After our fist day of fishing, we ended up with quite a catch. We caught some red snappers, ling cod, black bass, silver salmon, and of course a bunch of halibut.
The biggest halibut in the picture beats the lodge season record by almost twenty pounds. It weighed in at 142 lbs and Ken Hales actually caught it with a salmon rod set up with thirty pound test line. It was so heavy that after two hours the reel hadn't moved it at all, so our guide pulled it up 250 feet with his bear hands
